OA Visual Voice started as a grassroots effort of local artists interested in creating a welcoming environment of support and opportunity for the arts within our region. A voice for the visual arts community. With a goal to strengthen and promote the artistic ecosystem of Eastern AL while encouraging engagement of artists and art enthusiasts alike.

Nostalgia
The Nostalgia Exhibition asked Artists to think back to their childhoods and create from a distant memory. It was held at the Southside Center for the Arts March 1st through April 12th with an opening reception on March 1st.
Salon des Refuses
In1863 Paris, France The Salon des Refuses began as a revolt against the Salon de Paris ́ after the jury rejected almost 3,000 out of 5,000 artworks. Artists like James Whistler, Edouard Manet, Paul Cezanne, Camille Pissaro, and 400 others joined forces to provide a way for new artistic styles to be broadly exhibited to the public. Our exhibition asked artists to show their "rejected" art, whether it be professionally or personally rejected. The Salon des Refuses was on view at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center from November 21st to December 9th, with an opening reception on November 21st.

Open Exhibition
OA Visual Voice's Open Exhibition gave local Artists an opportunity to exhibit their recent creations in any medium, style, or subject matter. It was held at the Southside Center for the Arts on May 16th through June 22nd, with a reception on May 16th.
