Myra Stephenson is an artist based in Auburn, AL, focusing on narratives of forgotten memories using antique symbolism through experimental drawing. In her current work, she uses monochromatic ink to emphasize the atmosphere of the macabre. Myra has shown locally and regionally in group exhibitions, juried shows, and art markets. Most recently, she had artworks accepted into the Rockmart Cultural Arts Center’s New Frontiers Exhibit. She has been published in the Ghostwatch Paranormal Magazine for the 20th volume. She has been the recipient of the Raeford B. Liles Annual Award for two years in a row (2020 and 2021), and also received the Ida S. Wolfson Memorial Annual Scholarship in 2020. Stephenson is active in the Opelika/Auburn Visual Voice group, where she is serving on the board. She also worked as the Biggin Gallery Assistant where she sharpened her skills in the art of curating and installation. Stephenson holds a BFA in painting from Auburn University.
